I recently seen a video..that mentioned to lucid dream you just need to basically request it from urself..go to bed saying I am going to lucid dream..I said it to myself a few times and forgot about it..2 weeks later I found myself in what im assuming was a lucid dream...except in my dream i got an overwhelming clarity that what i was experiencing was real..I was seeing details crystal clear and realizing I was in the moment of a dream but the feeling I had and the way I was seeing things were unbelievable..im sorry its hard to put images n feelings into words..but I was aware in the dream that my physical body had goose bumps from the feelings I was having in my dream..it was awesome..I never thought it wud happen for me..I hope it happens again

Shivali and Zac: I think what you experienced is the early stages of OOBE (out-of-body experiences) which, if you conquer your fear of them, will lead to many fabulous dreams of being able to fly. You'll then visit places you've never seen or imagined before, and gain the ability to control the speed and height of your flight. I love when I have those dreams, whether in full flight or just a few inches elevated and running over the sidewalks at great speed as if my feet have wings At the end of one of those OBEE's, I am often awakened by the feel of the downward bump when I land back on my bed.

Kayla, take it from a voice of experience (I have three grandchildren who are more than twice your age) you are not crazy and have no reason to be scared. Your experiences are not actually lucent dreams, since you are unable to change or alter them, but pre-teens often have greater ESP-potential than older persons. It is somewhat of a gift, which will unfortunately decrease in the next few years. Meanwhile, don't be afraid of these experiences, you'll look back someday soon and say, "Wow! Was I really able to do that?" There are many psychic abilities and talents that are not fully understood, but if they should remain part of your personality, encourage them. They can provide you with mental acuity that will help you in adult life.

Dreamer, I think you and many of the other posters are confused about the difference between concious dreaming and lucent dreaming. When you do have a true lucent dream, you'll know what I mean. Far from frightening, they are a most enjoyable and exciting experience, especially when you are able to control the actions. No, you can't be injured, but if it's only a normal dream, it could be scary. Scientifically, it is impossible for you to actually die in any dream. Your brain will wake you before that can happen.

Katie, if I saw William Turner (the luscious Orlando Bloom) in one of my lucent dreams, I sure wouldn't attack him with a sword. I'd manipulate the action into a much more sexy and romantic situation! And I'd murder anyone who woke me up before I was ready.

I've read through a whole year of comments on this website, and I'd like to start by saying I believe you may be slightly confused. "Concious dreaming" is fairly common, and merely means that at some level, you are aware that you are in a dream. "Lucent dreaming," much more unusual, means that you can actually manipulate or determine the path and/or details of your dream. I've been a lucent dreamer for more than 50 years, but only in the last couple of years have learned that it has a name, and is not the normal dream behavior. My lucent dreams have increased dramatically with time, and now are in spectacular 3D and technicolor. Many have recurring themes, and take place in the same or similar settings. I also now, within some of the dreams, recall and refer to details from earlier dreams. I write poetry, outline novels, create riddles and anagrams in my sleep, some of which I remember but many that are vague in the morning. These dreams always occur in the hour or hours before I awaken, and I can remember vividly most of what happened, without need to journal them. I am often reluctant to wake up, I want to remain in the dream. I also sometimes awake and feel that, although they were dreams, I actually lived them - like I was really there (perhaps in some former life.. but that's another story!)

I have had the same experience before and it has happened quite frequently. You are the first person who has that exact thing happening to me that i know of.
I am now curious because it feels like I have had my first lucid dream… :S … I don't know yet.. This is the first time i am visiting this site. If you know why that was happening please get in touch with me. The falling part occurs rapidly and it feels like i am rolling off the bed (but its nothing) and hitting the floor when the floor doesn't even exist in the dark place and then smack (hit something) i feel it but i don't feel it .. if that makes sense and i get up and it feels sooo real

I think this is my first lucid dream. I am confused. It happened today … I was dreaming and then I no longer wanted to dream so i told the person in my dream to pinch me (this dream was fake obviously) and I somehow woke up (Reality) and i was floating .. I saw myself in the room (but how can i see myself if i don't have eyes ) I could definately feel myself and the floating felt like flying .. I tried to lift up my head and hands but I then realised i was something else and I had not yet taken up my body … so I turned and slowly came down from above my body and came to the centre of my body and slowly took up my arms and mind and legs and still i couldn't get up because I didn't take up my body totally and then i woke up .. i couldn't see clearly though but i saw my body somehow from above in my room. The dream was fake though (but when i pinched myself that was real)
Its definately not like me to be up early .. i think this occurred at about 4 : 55 am
Please do get in touch with me because I still feel very freaked out and I know that no one will believe me.
Thank you
