That happened to me too! When I tried to keep my eyes closed the vibrations slowed until they stopped!

Wow…
Samantha

I attempted Astral Projection last night for the first time, and boy did I come close. After less than 5 minutes my body was completely asleep (kind of creepy to have your body asleep but your mind awake!!) and was undisturbed by my cats, who were sleeping on the bed with me and kept shaking the bed. I imagined a white piece of paper and soon the vibrations came. First my hands, then my arms, then to the rest of my body. (And that’s after only 7 minutes!) The vibrations were trying to force my eyes open but I fought for it and kept my eyes closed. Soon after, my heart leaped as I felt something weird near my hand. I was separating! So I kept myself calm and I got real close but I couldn’t pull myself out. After 10 minutes of trying to project, the vibrations had stopped and I gave up. I tried a few more times but it didn’t work. It was awesome though, and I’m definitely going to try again tonight! This article really helps!!! Thank you!!

I’m not sure what it is, but every time I do try and astral project, I come really close until the vibrations become really strong. Every time they come, I can feel my eyes being forced open. I don’t even mean to. When I try to keep them shut, it distracts me and I lose everything. Really gets annoying.

Astral Projection Success!

I have been reading about astral projection for about a year now. I have tried several techniques and failed many times. But with constant practice and dedication, I was able to achieve “conscious” astral travel and I freaking LOVED IT!! At first I was terrified from the feelings and sounds of the vibratory effects, because I didn’t know if I was being attacked or possessed by some evil entity or what! Lol. But soon I realized this was perfectly NORMAL! And soon I began letting the vibrations take their effect and I found myself floating right out my bedroom window! Please note, I am not successful “every” time I try it, but most of the time I can achieve a conscious OOBE. FLYING IS POSSIBLE! Just not whilst in “physical form”! Have fun! Take care, be safe and most of all, HAPPY TRAVELS!!

Can you change your form when you do astral travel

Another Question
Saturday, 11 September 2010 23:21
Somebody

There’s one more question I just thought of. So, IS a lucid dream astral projection? Because a lucid dream is when your mind is conscious. And you’re in a dream so you are technically “separated” from your physical body. I’m just confused with the difference from lucid dream and astral projection. I know there is a difference, but what is it? Aren’t they both when your mind is conscious?

I think I get it…
Saturday, 11 September 2010 23:12
Somebody

OKAY. I think I’m starting to understand. So… whenever you dream you do NOT know about your physical body. So technically you are separated from your physical body. When you lucid dream you know you HAVE a physical body but can’t exactly do anything with it. But I have 4 questions.

1) How can you enter the astral plane from a lucid dream (change from subconscious mind to conscious mind)?

2) You said that in a dream it is what your soul, or astral body, sees. But… I’ve had dreams with my friends in it, or with places that I knew (like school) but were altered. How is this what my astral body sees?

3) So… is a nightmare when you see a bad part of the astral plane? Like when I was attacked by aliens… yah. One more thing.

4) So if you go to the highest subdivision of the astral plane will you see Elvis and other dead people there?

I’m excited to go to sleep tonight, now that I know what sleep really is!

If all humans are capable… It makes me want ask “am I even human?”
Thursday, 02 September 2010 11:31
Code

I understand and believe the concept that every HUMAN (Homosapian) is capable of astral projection, yet for six years, I’ve tried every method I could get my hands on… Does the fact that I’ve failed to do this for so long mean something’s wrong with me? My inability frustrating, and I’m starting to feel as though I’m something less than human.

Answer to Jake
Some1

Jake, i understand your doubts. But i don’t think you doubt you have a soul, mind, and spirit, separate from, but connected to, your physical body. That’s all the astral body is – the soul. It can travel away from the body (your mind does all the time when you daydream) and does so every night when you sleep. Dreams are just what it sees.
But the astral body travels on a slightly different plane of existence, the astral plane, or dreamworld, faeryland, heaven, hell, otherworld, etc. Actually, it has nothing to do with hell, although it does have certain unfortunate places. Everything you imagine comes from there, and some of those things enter our physical plane through us (think stories, art, music, scientific ideas, religions…)
It is a real existing world, and the astral body is a real existing body – just like the physical world and body. It’s just incorporeal, thats all.
And yes, there are angels (and demons, and fae, and other spirits) in the astral plane.
And dead people too (like Elvis!) It’s where you go when you die. Hoorah.

To answer Somebody’s questions
Thursday, 26 August 2010 01:16
some1

“Freaky body??” It’s just your soul, nothing freaky about it. Unless of course you have no soul. That would be freaky.
Others don’t see you as dead. You’re just asleep. You do this every night when you go to sleep, just unconsciously. You have nothing to worry about. It’s just a controlled form of lucid dreaming, really.
You can do anything in this body you can in a dream – you move around by thinking about it. Since it is your soul, obviously no one can see it. It is essentially like a ghost, only you’re not dead, since it’s still connected by the “astral cord” to your ordinary body.
It is a bit strange to feel yourself leaving your body – you will probably be terrified but relax. That’s just your stupid body thinking somethings wrong, because it’s not usually conscious through this. There is nothing to be afraid of.
And yes, you do enter a different body – your astral body, more commonly known as your SOUL. Or SPIRIT or whatever.
I hope that cleared things up for you…

Scared!!!!!
Monday, 16 August 2010 21:36
Somebody

I want to but I am TERRIFIED! Won’t it be scary to leave your body and see it there, like it’s dead? What does it FEEL like? How do you move around? How do you go BACK to your body? Do other people see you as dead? Do you ACTUALLY enter a different body? Doesn’t it feel weird? What is the POINT? Are you invisible when you are in thisfreaky body? Those aren’t even HALF my questions!!!

Thank you!

I astral travel all the time and have for as long as I can remember. I love it and now I travel the world physically to see all I saw in my astral travels.I also have the ability to travel to other planets. There is no limit to where you can go but I think people born with this naturally within them can and do go further as there is never any fear. It is totally natural to me.

Thanks Jane, glad you liked the article. As you said, it’s all in the ‘relaxed but attentive’ state. The key is to realize that you are between the awake and asleep states. Here is where the magic happens!

I would just like to say that what sleep paralysis is, is not when you come out of your physical body. Coming out of your physical body is, in my opinion, only attainable through spiritual practices, and as a Christian, i find that frightening.

Sleep paralysis is a state in which your brain puts you through. Immobilizing your larger muscles, this is to stop you from thrashing around in your sleep (possibly because of a bad nightmare) and possibly hurting yourself. Sleep paralysis can be overcome by trying to wiggle your toes, as the paralysis only affects large muscles in your body. It would be advised to consult a doctor as well.

Also, lucid dreaming is NOT like out of body travel and astro projection. lucid dreaming is when you become aware of the fact that you are dreaming, however you are still in your physical body. The two things you said involves you leaving your physical body. I will not recommend that.

I haven’t yet use binaural beats, although i would like to. However i have sometimes experienced stuff like sogno was saying – i sometimes wake up from dreams seeing aliens (the little grey ones, i am ultra afraid of them though ive never seen them) and hearing (and feeling!?) a buzzing sound throughout my body. It seems sort of synaesthetic though, the sound and the hot prickly feeling seem like a sound that you can feel or a feeling you can hear. It’s really weird, and scary.

still not so sure…
Brainwave Entrainment
Sunday, 10 May 2009 10:10
sogno

Hi there,

I would like some advice on Brainwave Entrainment to induce lucid dreaming. First of all, I used to experience sleep paralysis quite often, naturally and without any knowledge of what was happening to me. It used to frighten me so much and eventually they stopped (with a great joy I must confess). Now, after some investigation on my part, it seems that what I was experiencing was what happens when we get out of our physical body, that sensation of being possessed by evil entities, paralysis, strange sounds, voices, etc. Now that I know what it is and now that I manage to overcome my fear of it (mostly), I cannot do it again, which is very frustrating as I am that eager to master it.
Moving to Brain Entrainment technology, I have bought LifeFlow 2 brain entrainment technology, which is a set a CDs, 10 in total, and each CD (starting from 10 to 1) works in the following way: -

LifeFlow 10, 9 and 8 are various levels of Alpha brain waves.” “(Alpha waves) range in frequency from 8 to 12.9 Hz. We enter into a ‘Super learning’ state within the higher end of Alpha and we also produce calming neuro chemicals.”

LifeFlow 7, 6, 5 and 4 are various levels within the Theta brain waves.” “Theta waves have a frequency range of 4 to 7.9 Hz. Theta waves are frequently accompanied by unexpected, dreamlike mental images.

LifeFlow 3, 2 and 1 are various levels within Delta brain waves.” “Delta waves are the slowest brain waves ranging in frequency from 0.1 to 3.9. Usually people are asleep during delta, however there is proof that it is possible to stay alert in this state–an extremely deep trance-like state.

I listen to each CD for 40 minutes per day, for a month before moving to the next level. At the moment I am on CD8.

I find this technology amazing as it helps me tremendously in reducing stress (which is why I bought it).

Sometimes I do see colours, very vivid images or, just the other night, I young lady, dancing away, appeared in front of my eyes (closed). She appeared to be very peaceful. The image was very clear and lasted a bit longer that the the others images. Additionally, she was moving around were the other images I had were still (although very vivid in colour).

I feel a bit apprehensive to try any other technology as I would not want to overload my brain with different technologies.

Any advice is appreciated…I am trying to lucid dream every single night and i have been doing so now for the last 3 months. Also, is lucid dream the same as out of body travel and astro projection?

Thank you and happy dreaming

I actually tried the free sample through the link on this page. I listened to it in bed It just blew me away! I’ve bought the lucid dreaming one and it has really helped me. There are lots of others to try as well. I can’t wait to give them a go!

Meditator

I’ve been into meditation for years. In the early days, it took a long time to get my brain into the ‘zone’. After trying brainwave entrainment, I was suprised at how effective it is. I can see how useful something like this would be with Lucid Dreaming. Great article, thanks.

Can’t control them?
Monday, 13 June 2011 01:21
Ethel

Occasionally I’ll have a lucid dream but I can never seem to be able to fully control them. Sometimes I can fly or do little things but I can never do anything really big or have magic powers or anything. And most of my normal dreams work out like fiction and I find myself controlling the story(so to speak).

First time Lucid

I must have been really lucky or something because only 30 mins before I went to sleep did I see your website and started asking my self is this real, I done this 3 or 4 times before I went to sleep. This was the first time I found out about Lucid Dreaming too. First Attempt: First Experience Epic! It began with me in my bedroom, nothing special. Then I asked myself whether this was real and I remembered I was trying to Lucid Dream, I found I was suddenly awakened in my dream. The dreamscape became incredibly vibrant and vivid in detail. What was strange was that I got a drop down menu o what I wanted to create in my dream. I thought about moving some of the things in my room, they all moved wildly. Then I changed my dreamscape to greenery with hills and it happened. Then the place went all white almost virtual and the menu popped up again, before long after this I started to lose control saying “Give me Clarity” which worked for about a minute to find myself awake and extremely excited that it worked. 2 more Lucid dreams later although they were less vivid I awoke in the morning. Thank you for your tips I think I will continue this, I can’t wait till tonight!

Worried about lucid dreaming
Sean

I kinda want to try this lucid dreaming thing, but I’m really easily scared and some of the dreams I’ve had before which I can remember were really creepy such as my dad beating me and a man coming into my school with my pets and setting them on fire… I worry about what I might encounter in my lucid dreams if I do manage to achieve one. Some people have been saying things like they’ve ‘awoken’ (in the lucidity of course) to see strange animals and weird things like that. I worry about what kind of warped things my subconscious or my imagination would conjure up… What should I do?

First Good Lucid Dream
Tuesday, 26 April 2011 19:19
Vadim

This morning i finally had my first full lucid dream. I was with two of my best friends and I asked one of them if he could fly and he did. I got jelous and I tried to fly, but nothing worked, then i was upset and a second later I was by a restaurant, started jumping, and went flying, after flying around the restaurant for 2-3 circles, I realized I was dreaming. Wow I can hear myself dreaming through a dream, I woke up. 10 seconds later Im asleep again, new dream, and right away I asked myself if i was dreaming and something told me yes, I looked at my hands( in the dreams they are blury) this time they were looked very detailed except my left hand had some silverish to it. I said – “show me something cool” A second later I was standing on a shore of an ocean. It looked amaizingly crazy, instead of sky it was like a different colored mountains and water looked perfect and because of the sun, you can see the sun bleaches on the water, really cool. I flew over to the middle and dived in the water all the way to the bottom (about a mile deep) with a crazy speed. then I swam back and stood on the deck. My friend Valery and a famous actor. Started talking to them about how lucid dreams wear your brain out, making the point that you might have a little headache when you wake up. They told me it was true. Then actor said he had to go and dissapeared (he was in the air for some reason) then i wasnt doing anything for like 5 seconds and everything went black. I woke up. Amazing, tried falling back asleep but couldn’t. Hope tonight I’ll have another one

Who likes to fight in their dreams? I know I do! But the problem is is that sometimes, my attacks or punches dont have much of an effect. Like when im fighting my friend for fun (Since this is a dream, my friend doesnt really get hurt), my punches, uppercuts, and kicks dont effect him much. This one time, i punched my friend in the jaw to stun him, i tackled him down and punched him continuiously. He gets up and shakes it off as if it were nothing. Can someone tell me what im doing wrong and how to fix this? Please respond back!

The first time I became lucid I thought hell yeah! Free from the laws of physics and the sadomoralism of the real world I gave myself a muscular body, increased the size of my penis and put on a superhero suite. I then leaped into the air, arms stretched out like Superman. When I landed I summoned my favorite porn stars and started banging away. While banging this one chick I remember looking at myself in a mirror. Damn I looked good. I remember smiling and giving myself a thumbs up… then I woke up. Mom was calling me for dinner.

also i sometimes have fighting dreams where i try to use WWE wrestling (those of you that know what this is)moves. i really like them cuz i get to imitate their moves. i have done Spears(Edge), RKOs(Randy Orton), etc. the problem is that RKOs dont really hurt the person much. i can spear like a pro. i also realize that in dreams, the people are really light and easy to pick up, so i even do the Attitude Adjustment(John Cena). i have these dreams at least once a week or once every 2 weeks, so i try to take advantage of them and do as much as i can. If you know WWE, I would try to do these moves in a dream and fight a dream character with them. They’re very effective!

The best technique to use, if you can master it, is falling asleep with your mind awake. That way you can have a lucid dream whenever you want. I’ve been able to do it for almost a month now and I practice every night I get the chance.

About talking to my unconscious, I’ve heard a good way is going to a library. I was in a crazy dream, and I simply noticed: Hey, it’s a dream! As I was expecting that for more than a week, I teleported myself to the library. Then, everything god shaky and quick! Nice I could get a book. Strange: when I planned the library, I imagined normal books, but in my dream, every page had a different color. One of the pages (the only one I could read) was yellow with the unexistant circled big word BROM. Then I started to dream normally, telling everyone about my lucid dream in my dream.

hi lauren. look at the section on reality checks and do them even if you are sure you are awake. If you keep thinking that everything seems normal just do reality checks every hour instead (although I often notice without to reality checks at all lol)

For a week I have been trying to lucid dream. I do reality checks all the time and keep a dream journal, but I have a huge problem. In dreams when I do reality checks, no matter what is happening I will accept as reality. For example: I was an inventor in a robot suit fighting off aliens. I looked around and said, am i dreaming, looked around again, and concluded that it was real life. How can I fix this?

I think I had my first Lucid Dream last night! My character was in a room with a couple of other people and she looked at her watch, the time was changing really quickly, and she shouted, I’m in a dream!!! She instantly went to the nearest thing she could touch and move and played with these magnets. It only lasted for a few seconds but I loved it, I can’t wait to do more extreme things.

I had a crazy lucid dream about a week ago.
I started in a forest just roaming around kinda aimlessly. It was not until i seen a giant lion(much bigger than a normal lion) and that’[s when i relized i was dreaming. Then the lion started comming after me and out of hesitation i somehow managed without directly thinking about it forming a beam in my left hand that bleasted like a kamahamaha from dbz and it obliterated the lion. Then from there i started thinking what else i could do. I never got around to flying because i was to busy being ammused by lifting all the trees within my site into i giant tornado like vortex and spun them around for awhile then fused them together into a giant tree witch i ran up the side of to the top then made a branch extend what seemed like thousands of miles but ran at insane speed(i would geuss i was running a few thousand miles per hour). At the end there was a giant ocean witch i jumped into and a dolphin let me get on his back and started heading to see. Then things started to get blurry and i noticed i was drifting back to reality. I went from staring at the back of this amazing dolphin to my mom bitching at me for kicking the wall for and waking her lol.

Its weird. I spent almost 3 months trying to experience lucid dreams, and i always wanted to fly. Finally, i had my first lucid experience, i realize i can control myself so i kinda run toward a bridge to fly, just as i was going to jump, the bridge disappeared and i fell to a sea and im drowning. I felt i can’t breath so i woke up catching my breath. The strange thing is when i woke up i am still cathching my breath. Last night i dream somebody died, i got full access to ——— my feelings…. suddenly i was so depressed and sad…
when i woke up, im feeling the same thing, the whole day! now i don’t want it anymore… its so depressing… what can u suggest so i can stope feeling this?

… And it only lasted about 15 seconds. I freaked out. I didn’t know lucid dreaming would be so… Clear.

I found that if I leave music playing, it helps remind me I’m dreaming mid-dream. Once I realized I was dreaming, I put my hands in front of my face, and noticed that things didn’t automatically blur behind or in front of them. It was all one single picture, all focused at once. I then realized that I had complete control over everything, but in a different way – By my imagination.
I awoke out of nervousness. Damn.

The reason i learned about it was because of a very vivid dream i had 2 nights ago. after this dream i became almost obsessed with dreams. learning from them, studyign them, the metaphorical side you can take from dreams. after learngin more about lucid dreaming im very excited to master it and see what i can learn.

I am a lucid dreamer. I didn’t know that my awareness of dreaming is not normal, but now that I know this it is confussing me. I have been reading alot about lucid dreamers but I have not found anyone who has the ability to do what I do in dreams.

As I dream I can change anything and everything like I want it. If I am dreaming that I am at a place I don’t want to be I can change the place into somewhere I want to be. Can anyone reading this do that? I can change the colour of things and I can also change the people in my dreams. If I dream of someone I can deside that this dream will be better if it wasn’t her, so I change this person into someone I want it to be. Lastnight I had a dream about a woman I don’t know, she reminded me of my friend so I changed the woman into my friend. Can all lucd dreamers do that?

Like I said, I didn’t know it was anything special until someone told me that my dreams are not normal. I have been dreaming that way as far back as I can remember.
Sometimes I am not sure I even like being a lucid dreamer. I don’t like getting hurt in my dreams and then waking up and haveing the same pain I had in my dream. Is that even lucidity?

I try to not always change my dreams, sometomes I just like going with it, but I alwys feel like I should change it, because there is so many people who work hard to have lucid drems. I was born a lucid dreamer.
I am keeping a dream journal now, It helps alot. I am still confused by the fact that I can’t find anyone who changes their dreams like I do.

If someone is reading this that has the same control over their dreams as I have, please let me know.

Person called Me!!, you asked if the green circles stuff means you’re doing well. I get them every time I meditate deeply. Nearly every time i meditate. They are just a sign of a trance. When you see them, start imagining part of a dream in detail – you might start lucid dreaming…

I had to say this!
Thursday, 19 August 2010 15:22
ME!!

I had something I just HAD to say, so here it goes: I think that I actually had a shared lucid dream. I was walking with a friend to this room, and I thought, “Okay, I’m lucid.” I do not know WHEN I became lucid or HOW the friend even GOT THERE, but I might have become lucid at the very beginning so I didn’t feel that rush of excitement like usual. If I WAS lucid then this would be my first full lucid dream! But I was with a friend in this room, and I was trying to convince them they were dreaming. (I must have been lucid or else how would I KNOW we were dreaming?) Finally, I asked him/her, “How did you get here?” My friend didn’t know, and thus became lucid! I KNOW my friend wasn’t a dream character because how could I have to convince a DREAM CHARACTER that he/she was dreaming? That’s impossible! Because dream characters AREN’T dreaming, they’re components of your dream! My friend and I promised to call each other and talk about the dream. The only problem is, when I woke up i couldn’t remember which friend it was! After that I either lucidly went to an amusement park, but I think I did it unconsciously. I need to find out who was in my dream!

I kinda feel bad for all the posts. Am I taking up too much comment space? I just really like to share things and ask questions about lucid dreaming! Well last night I performed my first REALITY CHECK! I pinched my nose and breathed through it! I knew I was dreaming, but… I was excited AT ALL even though I stayed calm, I felt like I was trapped and couldn’t do anything, and everything was either ultra blurry or pitch black. I tried to open my “dream” eyes but I opened my real eyes instead! I’m so close! But do you know why that happened?

Huh?

Wow, I sure do have a lot to say about lucid dreaming! Anyway, I keep having this dream… but it’s not much of a nightmare, and it only repeats about once a month. I am on this cliff-like thing that slopes kind of steeply, similar to something in my backyard, but this one is longer. the only other things you can see are some trees and spiny brush on the hill. I’m on this really slippery rock- or something similar- and I think I find a foothold but then I fly into the air and am about to thud on the ground when I am in a campsite. Some people in a section near me were having a fire, but it was really big. From then the dream changes. Anyone know what it means? At the end I was also in a roller coaster, but there was no cover for it and things that were small and insignificant that were important to me flew out, and I jumped out of the roller coaster to get them. Does this mean I’m losing memories of the little things, or something similar? If you know, please answer!

I think I’m Close!
ME!!

Hola, AGAIN! I think i am close to lucid dreaming! I can remember dreams better now- even though last night was the first night I wrote in my dream journal. I got two dreams, one long one (3 pages!), one short one (one page) because I asked my dad to wake me up 6 hours after I fell asleep. Well like I said before, 4 nights ago now I had a lucid dream but woke up right as it started from excitement. My first dream last night was a dream about being a man who was learning to lucid dream. i might have been on a really low level of lucidity, because I knew I was dreaming but I didn’t really KNOW know yet. I just didn’t think much of the thought I’m dreaming. for my second dream, at the end I was looking at a roller coaster and I realized there were some serious problems with it. Right after that I woke up. I think it’s because I became lucid, and got excited, and woke up! Am I close to having my first real official lucid dream?

Me again!!! Well I just attempted WILD from one of the other website links, even though I haven’t really had lucid experiences yet. At first I thought it wasn’t working. But then I felt kind of like I was rolling, or swaying. Green circles surrounded me and were enveloping me. I tried to run into one of them, and I did, but suddenly my eyes moved rapidly under my eyelids. It wouldn’t stop, and the green circle sensation got stronger until I opened my eyes. I felt dizzy and lightheaded when I got up. Was I close?

I remember the third thing I was gonna say. This is a question that I really hope someone will answer: (1) Is it true that when you’re a teen, lucid dreaming gets a lot harder? I don’t want to be 20 and not be able to lucid dream! I have another question now: (2) Last night I woke up (without an alarm) 4 1/2 hours after falling asleep. This was PERFECT (although I didn’t remember my dream.) I stayed awake a bit- but the problem? I couldn’t fall back asleep! Finally I did but I don’t remember my dream at all, even though I didn’t move after getting up. Why?

THREE more things!
Monday, 16 August 2010 00:43
ME!!

1. Almost every night I am falling asleep when suddenly I am on a roller coaster. After a few seconds I’m flying off it and I wake up, nearly jumping out of my bed. What is this called again? 2. I think I have had lucid daydreams in the middle of the day. I forget what specific things I was gonna say, but I start daydreaming and I do what I want to do. Like, one time I had a nightmare that I was pursued by bears because they thought my Teddy bear was their cub and then I daydreamed and ended it by showing them it wasn’t their cub. There was another thing I was gonna say but I forget.

Don’t worry, you won’t see someone dead there! YOU choose what YOU want to do! That means that someone that has passed away will not randomly pop up there unless you want them too. If they DO pop up randomly, make them go away! Your first lucid dream will be scary, but in an awesome and exhilarating way. You’ll love it!

Another Thing…
Me!!

I just wanted to share my first lucid dream experience. I was on vacation at a relative’s house and my mom got up to let the dog outside. I woke up then, but quickly fell asleep again and was dreaming. I was in a large field with a bus up ahead, and I knew my dad was in that bus, so I started running towards it. Suddenly I stopped and thought, “My dad could be evil, because this is a dream. Wait- I’m dreaming? I’M LUCID DREAMING?!” the experience was so frightening- but in an exhilarating way- that I woke up, but it was AWESOME!!!

Tests
Me!!

I LOVE this guide! Two nights ago I did lucid dream- for the first time!! I got so excited, and instantly I wanted to turn into a cat, but before I could I woke up. Grr… oh well. I will now try to use lucid dreaming for something I have had a problem with for a LONG time: stress. I get so stressed of tests that I cry. So I can study for tests in my dream. I can TAKE the test in my dream, like, a practice test and ta-da! No more stress! I will also practice gymnastics! But I have 2 questions. (1) For my first lucid dream, I didn’t even think it would happen. I mean, I never keep a dream journal, I rarely try to recall dreams, and I never do reality checks but *poof* I’m in a lucid dream! Is this rare? It seems like it is. (2) Would it be considered cheating if I went and saw an actual test and looked over it? I get so stressed that it would help… okay I guess it would be cheating. Oh well! Maybe if my first lucid dream didn’t need any preparation, I’ll have a second one tonight!

I’m 16 and have known of and experianced lucid dreaming for as long as I remember. Years ago I got into the routines of reality checks and dream joiurnals, but then I stopped and forgot how much fun it was. I’ve still kept a dream journal for the past year and Seeing ‘Inception’ sparked my interest, so I found this site yesterday morning, did the reality checks, and lo and behold, I was woken up two hours two early, and going back to sleep I had my first lucid dream in a long time. It was a wedding reception, I could controll the lights, open/close doors at will, fly, and make celebs appear. Though I couldn’t make anyone disappear and I let myself get swept up in the changing story again. Still, it was so much fun! So much freedom!

Hello, I have been a lucid dreamer all my life. I only found out what it was called a couple of years ago. If you want to become good at it follow the methods talked about. I did, and over a two month period I was lucid dreaming almost every night; I would plan vacations and places to see during work so that when I went to bed I could go to those places. What a great feeling to be in a dream and do whatever you want and know its just a dream. Happy dreaming.

on Talking with Deceased Loved-Ones…
Me

Hello, when people ask if one can talk with the deceased in a Lucid Dream, and if that is real or imaginary, and if furthermore it is moral… we can answer:

“I/Many talk to deceased loved-ones in there NORMAL dreams, and sometimes they appear as though they are still alive, and other times they appear as ‘coming from the other-side’, but nevertheless, if it is possible/valid in normal dreams, then why not equally so in Lucid Dreams?”

I can put myself in a dream easily by just falling asleep on my back. I usually fall asleep on my front and found it’s easy to dream when your uncomfortable. I’ve had 3 lucid dreams and they’re brilliant. I wish I could do it every sleep but I never realize I’m dreaming. And when I do I get so excited a wake up about 30 seconds later. I think its just that feeling of being free to do anything with no consequences. Not gonna lie, the first thing I did was strip down butt naked and run through my local shopping center like a lunatic. It was brilliant!

Should somebody care to answer it, I have a question. Since you have multiple REM stages, wouldn’t that mean your lucid dream state goes away? Or does it continue? Thanks in advance!

I had my first lucid dream by accident. I wondered what had triggered it since I had never had one before, and began to research what sort of things help facilitate lucid dreaming. Come to find out, Melatonin and Vitamin B help with dreaming. The night before my dream, I had eaten a late dinner that had a lot of cucumbers in it. Cucumber has vitamin b, and I’m pretty certain this is what sent me into this state. It might not work for everyone, but getting a reasonable dosage of Vitamin B before you go to sleep might help.

The two lucid dreams I’ve had have faded but not as described. My first one, I was taking in everything slowly looking over the whole area, but it faded when sunlight got into my eyes in real life(my curtain was down in real life).

My other one, I was focused, but I woke up within the dream and I now believe I had a false awakening, because within my false awakening I did a reality check(looked at my hands and said “Am I dreaming?”) and nothing was amiss.

i remember clearly, my first lucid dream. i had just gained control of my dreams completely, and it felt great, at first. in my dreams i can dream days, in only a few seconds of real time. So in my dream i had had control for only a few days, when all of the sudden, i everything vanished,i was now laying down on a stone table in the middle of some ancient ruins, and i couldn’t move an inch. I had temporarily lost my control over my dreams, all i could do was lay there in fear, until moments later a wolf walked forward into my direction. At first i was afraid for my life, thinking the wolf would attack. Only then, the wolf approached me, and explained quite much to me. Where we were, Who he was, what was happening. And then i was freed instantly after he finished. and ever since then a wolf has followed me in my dreams.

I had a dream a few weeks ago where I was at a large house that was holding a lot of classes on spiritual matters. This subject always turns a little funny in my dreams, making me feel quite strange, and in the past has caused a bit of sleep paralysis.

So, back to the dream, I wanted to get away from this house. It was night and I was feeling a bit creeped out. I went to my car, but found that I had left it running so the gas tank was empty. Out of no-where, I thought, well this is just a dream, so I’ll just look away and when I look back, I want it to be full. So, it worked, and I drove away, but that was it! Weird, I thought. Why wasn’t it a big ‘a-hah!’ moment? maybe because I wasn’t trying to lucid dream at the time.

I think i was about 6 years old when first lucid dreamed. Now that i think back on it, maybe i had been doing it longer without realising it. Okay, the one that i believe may have been the turning point was a simple dream many of us have. Standing at the top of a flight of stairs, looking down to the bottom and slowly tipping forward and falling down. I remember clearly that this was a recurring dream from which i would literally jump awake. It bothered me so much i remember thinking i must beat the dream. I don’t recall how many nights it took, but it was not many before i was in the dream and knew i was in the dream. Top of the stairs, slowly tipping forward……..then i was flying. Even now, decades later, i remember the exhileration.
I do hope all of you who are attempting to lucid dream are successful. I hope you feel the exhileration. You’ll be walking on air

Lucide Dreaming?
Hmmm

Ok so i have not been able to remember any drams at this point. But last night I had a very short lucide dream, or maybe not. Nothing like what you mentioned above happened. it felt like I was still being pulled along the dream current. Could I have had a dream that I became lucide? Or did I become lucide for almost no time at all and quickly return to a normal dream state?

I just realized something- I thought I just had my first lucid dream, but maybe not! When I was little I had a dream I was in a GIANT playhouse with tubes to crawl though. Me and my brother were playing, and I had to fly to get him. It was so much fun… I think it was a lucid dream! I usually can’t fly in “normal” dreams. This is so COOL!

OK about last week i had a dream. I didnt know i was dreaming for about 30min (dream time). I had full controll and everything felt weird then i realized i was dreaming. I was excited but i thought to my self, “This kool but Im being chased so i cant stop yet” so i started to use being lucid to my advantage. But about 5min (dream time) later, I forgot i was dreaming but still had controll… so is that concidered a lucid dream? lol (By the way, when i forgot i was dreaming, it didnt start fading… i just forgot instantly =-P)

Lucid Dreams are so fun, lasty night I had two, the first one wasnt that fun or anything but the second was. I did so many things that just popped into my mind. I hadn’t thought about lucid dreaming happening that night but it did and I had a blast. In the first 3 seconds I though to myself (in dream) this is a dream and I had control. I was amazed, so I practiced in my dream in a giant Colosseum of what I could do then I went out and screwed around XD

I once had a dream where I dreamt I was lucid, but i wasn’t actually lucid, if that makes sense. I had no control, but I knew i was in a dream, but was dreaming I knew i was dreaming.

Eh…I confused myself now.

I will tell about my latest extreamly clear LD. I have had a few after this, but none were as powerfull as this one. Alright, I went to sleep and i started to see me driveway appear, It fades into view and its dark outside, theres fires burning in the distance, and theres a UPS like truck infront of me and my driveway. The door opens and inside are 2 bodies, both partialy decayed and suspended in water, even with the door open, The water did not spill out but was held back by some invisible wall. I reach out to touch it and I am suddenly yanked into the air above my trees aginst my will, (VERY SCARY to have this happen) I was about 250Ft into the air and suddenly am rused over the school that I live next to and hover there, I see scared, frightened kids looking up at me in the fields, I was Lucid and had control over everything exept my random creapy flight patterns, I am then rused back towed my house, there are green bits of what look like flesh in the air, very tiny, and I here a crash and people screaming in the distance and look at the distant, frightning fires in the distance. While being flung though the air, I see a semitruch screeching out of control down the street, being chased by the living dead, and i fly right under it, crash through my tree, land quite (dream painfully) onto my lawn, even being a dream I am to tired to get up and I see 4 zombies, 3 male 1 femal run over to me, and stare down onto me then I hear a bloodcurdling moan and they swing a piece of debree at my face, then i fade away, dissapearing into my mind. I wake up, its 1:47 in the morning, its dark out and i hear dogs barking faintly, While this dream is terrifying, It was the strongest LD I have ever had in my life.

It’s quite frustrating

I’ve been trying for some time now and last night I had a dream. I did not lucid dream, but I instead dreamt that I fell asleep in my English class and in THAT dream I had a lucid dream. Of course, when I woke up I realized I wasn’t actually in control of that dream. My dream self was. :/

last nite I had a dream. it was not a false awaking, but was a dream, I was in a maze type land. I did not know were I was. out of habit, not out of question, I did a reality check. the noise pinch one you told me about. I could still breath, all the sudden 2 colorful triangles appeared in front of me, that went through me. then I remember seeing colorful hangings on the walls. I kept seeing people I did nit know. but I did not talk to them, I just went on my way. the next thing I thought, was to make the girl I like appear. so I imagined her their, then I turned around and she was there. I tried to talk to her, but she disapeared. I did it one more time, but she disapeared again. the next time I could not bring her back. I then wanted to go out side to fly. (out side) but I was still inside wen I turned around. I was inside a vary colorful room, with grass on the floor and blue paint on the walls. I then thought it was okay so I tried to fly. first I used the swimming method, then I used the superman pose. I went through the ceiling,(it was weird I could not see up, it was all gray, but if I looked down I could see the grass patch.) I then thought I would fly to space. I woke up, or did I. I went and told my family, I then woke up in real life thinking wow.

I think this was a LD. but it did not seem real. was it a LD?

somewhere I read it was possible for your sub consese to pick up on it, if some one likes you. that your concese mind will not notice. so is there a way to ask my sub concece mind if a girl likes me?

also I read it was possible to learn anything by flipping through a book Johny 5 (from short circuit 1) style. is this true. could I flip trough a ASL–English dic. and learn the language in my sleep that way. I would also like to learn aikido, Spanish, Japanese, chines, A+ cert, networking, C++, HTML. the possibility’s are endless. do you think this is true?

also could you have a LD that lasts way longer then your dream. for instance live your entire life each nite. (80years with out sleeping)
do you think that is posible.

thank you all for your reply’s.

My advice would be to persevere. It comes easier to some people than others. Keep at it, read about LD’ing, talk about LD’ing and eventually some success will come your way. Once you have had your first LD, the rest will come much easier.

You really do need to keep up with your reality checks and try the WBTB method at least a couple of times per week. Eventually you will have a lucid dream!

Wow i finally had my first lucid dream after only a few days of trying, i used the Wake-Induced Lucid Dreaming technique and just a few minutes (in my head) later i found myself in a very blurry dream, where the phrase i was repeating made me go into a lucid dream “i will have a lucid dream tonight”

At first i couldnt see much, it was like a peep hole opening up before my eyes and i could see more and more/

I remember riding a horde at 100miles/hour , i remember making my horse have wings, i remember playing with hundreds of cute puppies, and i remember riding a cheetah haha

unfortunately it ended when i brought my ex into the dream, to talk

The spinning did work on a few occasions but this time i instantly woke up without a chance to spin

i cant wait for the next one

i went to Wikipedia and got this info with a bit more detail and instruction, Anyway, I’m surprised at myself. I did it on my first try and it surprised me. i totally admit that the first time u do it, u got too excited to think and wake up. I mean I’m 11 years old and if i can do it so can anyone else. my friend bought the word lucid dreaming up to me.

I’ve heard before that the WILD method can induce sleep paralysis and can make you feel and hear things that aren’t really there. This is TOTALLY true. The sleep paralysis thing has never really happened to me, but I’ve felt my bed tilting constantly, and I often hear sounds right before I fall asleep, like people talking but I can’t understand the words. A lot of times it’s music that keeps getting louder and louder until I’m in a dream. Sometimes the noises scare me back to wakefulness, like demonic dogs snarling at me (that was a recent one). But I’ve never been able to keep concious into a dream. The sounds just become the dream after I black out, amd then I’m just there, dreaming… darn.

I have had dreams before where I wake up durring the night and I feel awake but im obviously sleeping because something unusual is in my room. for example spider webs everywhere, no blankets, something missing like my TV, im whereing school clothes, etc. Sometimes I totally freak out, and sometimes after I freakout I figure out it’s only a dream and I put my head on the pillow and go to sleep. What technice is this if it is one? Is it a technic at all? Am I just half awake in a dream or what? And should I get up out of bed to explore or go back to sleep like normal?

ok I think i had sort of a lucid dream because I knew I was dreamiing but as soon as i tried to make anything happen the dream kind of faded away. This was soon before I woke up. Is there a reason or was it just because i was too consious by the time I realized I was dreaming?

the same happened to me too. When i was like 5 years old (the amazing thing is that i still can remember that but not each detail)

I was a child and a big monster truck or something like that were looking a my direction it were near my house, then i started to run like crazy.. it catched me up well i cant remember the part what happened then but i had some dreams like that too.

What i remember now is that i had this dream like 20 times in different day delays.
It was in the same age. there were 2 people who were chasing after me with a gun and they hit me with the pistol always i were so scared and it did hurt soo much that i just wanted to wake up the the failing part is i couldnt! i tried to wake up but couldnt. That was the time when i had my 1. Lucid Dream.

my 2. Lucid dream was when something again chased after me to kill me i wer in front of my House and heard my mother inside the House. I knocked at the door like crazy but nobody opened the Door anytime!

but i finally managed to open the door or better said tmy mother opened the door when i dreamed the same dream the 5th. time and t was a great relief for me

If you have had a dream and you wake up and start thinking about something, than you will most likely forget what you dreamed about, but if the dream was important, like you say, see and old girlfriend that moved away or a family member that died, you will most likely remember it, to best remember your dreams, once you wake up, do not move or think, focus on your dreams, you will remember them.

Yes! Of course you were lucid dreaming! When I had my first lucid dream (3 nights ago) I was in a large field with a bus up ahead. I’M LUCID DREAMING?!” and then I woke up! Try again and try to stay calm!

Star Wars Fangirl

Okay, so I found this website four days ago, and I’ve already had three lucid dreams. The first one was actually the night before I found this site, and was what prompted me to look lucid dreaming and how to do it intentionally up. It was only kind of lucid, because it faded quickly into a normal dream and all I did was go around and tell my friends in the dream “You don’t exist! This is just a dream! Hahaha!” Two days after I visited here, I had my second, but it didn’t last at all because I was napping in a car. Someone accidentally woke me up, and I thought, “I suppose I should do a reality check,” and did the nose pinch. When I realized I could still breathe, it jolted me awake because I got so excited. But just a few minutes ago, I woke up from my most lengthy and clear lucid dream yet. I’m still having trouble controlling certain things, like teleportation and what the characters say and do, but it got easier as the dream wore on. I kept doing the nose pinch thing through the whole dream to keep myself aware. But I ended up teleporting to two other locations from my house, and once I walked by a snack stand and took a Pepsi and chips without paying. In my mind I ordered the people working the stand not to do anything about it, then changed my mind, added security guards everywhere, and started an epic chase. I have to thank you for making lucid dreaming so EASY for me! I can’t wait to make this a regular part of my life.

Talking about it isn’t the only way

I’m a writer and lately I’ve been plotting a novel that is entirely about lucid dreaming. It has many elements, locations, and events from dreams of my own (normal dreams(I have very vivid and off-the-wall normal dreams)). I don’t know if I’m going to ever actually write it, but I’m continuing to work on it anyway. Why? Well, up there you mentioned that talking about it can increase chances of success. Well, since I started working on this book, I’ve started having spontaneous lucid dreams. I’ve had two or three in the last month or two.

Also, the nose-pinching thing will probably work well for me. With no exceptions, I can always, always breathe underwater in my dreams. Once I was even breathing under-Jell-o (long story).

Sounds Awesome!

HI!! I just found this site today (May 17, 2011), and am super excited to try to start lucid dreaming!!! But I’m just wondering, how often should you do reality checks in the day? And which ones work best? Also, if you do reality checks in the day then will you just do it automatically in the dream? Thanks!

A very strange dream

One time I remember that was very strange was that when I was asleep I had a dream that I was having a lucid dream, but I was kind of watching myself have the lucid dream, and I couldn’t control hardly anything in the dream. That is the best way I can explain it. Has anybody else ever done this? I also have almost all of my dreams in third person which I really don’t like at all.

I know what it is to lucid dream or astral project I’ve done both. I just want to induce them at will I’ll try to do a reality check habitually and see if it carries over into my dream state. Funny the dream state is I know how to move left or right in it I just don’t know where I am. Lol

lucid dreaming for 3 decades -another reality check
Chris Sichra

One of the first reality checks I discovered when learning to lucid dream (at about the age of 16,) was that while dreaming i could read large signs with lettering but if i picked up books or tried to read smaller print the text/individual letters morphed into symbols or glyphs/shapes & I was unable to finish reading the sentence, the light switch test (or when no lights worked) was the second best indicator, the underwater test was the 3rd.
now that i’m in my 40′s I Lucid dream at least 5-6 days a week and am so sensitive to sensing the dream that reality checks are rarely needed anymore, I now get a “fuzzy” slightly dizzy sense or see colorful auras to indicate my dreamworld, also wondering if it may be a genetic thing? as it turns out my grandfather, his daughter (my mom)& me, all easily posses this talent, I also noticed alcohol or prescription depressants/painkillers i took post surgery completely inhibit my LD’s.
No doubt about it, sleep is extremely fun in my “world”.

Frustrated

well , i have been trying to have a lucid dream for the past 6 months ; i am doing at least 15 reality checks of multiple types , also doing the morning nap technique , i can recal 2-3 dreams per night/morning, yet when i am dreaming, it just never occurs to me that i should do a rc! very frustrating! also because my dream content is always different i dont have any fixed dream signs…all i know that my awareness just sits back and views the dream instead of participating…maybe my brain wired up in a weird way that doesnt allow LDs

the water check

if you are under water in a dream, you will automatically hold your breath, which can be strange if somebody is watching you sleep when you suddenly stop breathing. WHen you cannot hold your breath any linger, you instinctively inhale or exhale, when you continue to breathe while you are underwater, you will realize that you are dreaming.

I’ve just started learning this lucid dreaming technique. I remember three days ago I managed to do two successful reading reality tests. In the first one, a car sped past few really fast…I decided to do a reality check on its license plate. The first time I look at the plate, the last three chars were something like _J_; three chars with a J in the middle (I don’t remember the other two). I look away and re-read it…this time the second char is still J, the other two are blank, and the three chars are zigzagging. I realized immediately this is a dream, but then someone came and woke me up. Later that night I vaguely remember another reading test that worked. I ended up lucid dreaming for sure but I couldn’t control the dream too well. I was like flying…and I’m trying to reach the ground because I knew I was lucid (my first and only time so far). But I couldn’t do it..it was too hard to reach the ground, it was like as if gravity was working the other way.

Since then I have not had anymore success. I remember two nights ago in my dream I had two credit cards with me, and I realized both were different digits. When I woke up I’m like scolding myself…why didn’t I read the same credit card digits twice for? It would have been an excellent reality check. So now I tell myself, any time I come across a license plate or use my credit card….always do a reality check. I still can’t figure out what I did differently three nights ago to get lucid dreaming to work so well….but since I just started learning I figured it will take some time before I get good at this.

You said you were having troubles remembering your dreams? I’ve been working on training myself to have lucid dreams for a couple weeks now, and the technique I use to remember my dreams is to tell myself “Tonight I will remember my dreams,” from the point I lie down to when I fall asleep. I also think it’s important you don’t get distracted and let your mind wander in the process. Every time that has happened to me I haven’t been able to remember many of my dreams from that night. Also, if you are struggling to fall asleep try counting your breaths, or even sometimes I do both and tell myself to remember my dreams as I am counting my breaths.

I can say that I had a somewhat lucid dream last night. It was weird, I had a dream within a dream, and in my dream’s dream I was lucid, but only to ideas that I had while in my dream. Kind of a trippy first lucid dream, i guess…

Is it possible to “fall back” into a regular dream??? I once had a string of nightmares for about a week so i went to bed one night muttering “it’s only a dream” when I actually did fall asleep i had my first lucid dream, it was like “hey cool I KNOW im in a dream!” but then I thought “ok might as well solve it!” (I didnt know about lucid dreaming at the time!) Then I no longer felt like I had control and the dream proceeded as any other… What do you think?

Dreaming of course
Joe

I started my dream journal last night, and I made a section for previously remembered dreams I have had, and that came out to about 10 dreams that I specifically remembered, then last night I awoke from a couple of dreams and copied them down 3 to be exact, after officially waking up in the morning I remembered some more, I went to work and remember even more!I have 7 from one night of dreaming! How long does it ussually take to have a lucid dream, once I start reality checking and remember several dreams a night? A week, a month? And waking up to write dreams, makes me take forever to fall asleep again, When drifting off I think I hear voices or dreams I suppose but dont see any images.

I recently had my first lucid dream- but it was accidental and it was only half of one. I got so excited I woke up. Oh well. That happened three nights ago and since then I have been doing research on lucid dreaming, mostly on this website. Now I do reality checks once every 10 minutes (not kidding!) but no matter what I can’t remember my dreams! This morning I didn’t move and I tried to let the dream come to me, but my head felt empty. Any suggestions?

Ok, so I came upon this site yesterday, and while I have been doin quite a few reality checks throughout the day, and started a dream journal, I was wondering that since you are dreaming, and not already conscious, how would you preform a reality check, since you are already not in control of your dream self?

Really works!

Ok wow, this site is officially awesome. I tried the techniques and reality checks etc for two weeks, and finally last night I had a lucid dream – the most strangest and exciting feeling ever!
I’m wondering if my dreamworld will get less hazy as I carry on with lucid dreaming? Because last night everything was quite hazy and I couldn’t make a few things appear/happen etc.

Is it easy to tell if your dream is lucid? Once when I was going to see some movie the next day and couldn’t wait, I had a dream that I went to watch it. I was at the cinema but the movie kept being delayed and it didn’t make sense (because I hadn’t seen the movie) so I am not sure if I altered the movie or not but then I woke up.

I’ve done projects on this topic for the last three years, and in that time, I’ve only had one half lucid dream. I felt as though I was forcing myself to stay asleep part of the time, it was an awesome experience, but I’ll have to try harder to have them. I don’t usually reality check. Hopefully the new year brings some lucidity.

Well for the past 3 days I’ve done the reality check where you try and poke your finger through your hand every time I said “Am I dreaming?” and I had success, although for some reason in my dream I tried this *after I was lucid* and it didn’t work O_O

Congratulations on your first lucid dream(s). Having multiple lucid dreams back to back is quite common. The great thing is, you get many lucid dreams in one go. It looks like the ‘Pinch Nose’ technique is working well for you. It is my favorite reality check!

I found this website a lil over a week ago, and last night I had my first intentional lucid dream. Not only did I have my 1st, but at the end of each, I woke up and fell back to sleep. Its crazy, b/c when I was lucid, I had the ability to wake up as well. Anyways, I ended up having 3 or so lucid dreams in one night!!!! crazy stuff. Each dream, i realized i was dreaming with the pinch nose breathe in technique it was crazy. Make sure to try it. Peace.

Dream recall
Tuesday, 14 June 2011 23:49
Star Wars Fangirl

What’s nice is that I’ve always been able to easily remember dreams, and even get back into them several nights in a row. I always write down my best dreams, like the ones with a large scope or exciting event. I remember one dream I had where the geography of this one place never changed at all, but remained constant throughout the several miles of land. I would sometimes travel back to the same place I’d been before. When I woke up I was able to draw a really accurate map too and even get an idea for a book from it. Which leads me to my next point: the story had a beginning and an end. Pretty much the only thing that didn’t make much sense was the beginning, where my school was taking a field trip to a volcano in the ship from the movie Alien. But other than that, it was pretty consistent through the whole dream.

Anyway, my point being my dream recall is excellent, and always has been. Almost nobody else I know can do it like I can. I feel so special

I found that setting my alarm to go off four hours after I go to sleep–and three hours after that–really helps recall. I started this last Friday (today is Thursday), and since then, I’ve managed to recall around two to three dreams per night. At least one dream each night is vivid. I’m eager to see when all of this is going to pay off.

It gave me awful nightmares that i was being pulling into rooms of blood and was being tortured by demons.
A priest came out to bless the house and the nightmares stopped. Is this all in my head or not? The nightmares were very vivid and i can recall them like they are still happening.
It was more like an NDE/OBE of Hell. Is this normal? Is there and explanation?

i remember my dreams fairly well but the only paterns i’ve ever notest is that thay seem to be long fairly cohearint story lines (like my teacher was captered by a ninja clan and thay where trying to tern him in to a white sapermisit and the got the searum forula worng and when me and my frinds got there to reskue him… h-he was a pedifile. i have ADD so this is helping me to keep my trane of thought and i’m not going to erase it couse i’m prowd and i can’t spell) but thay hang together so well that i cant notes pattrns couse thay have fermiler places, people, and verble corectnis of the people in them any way text dose not change (at least text that is like story line text) and obgects don’t change (unless i or some one has magic and changes it for my benifet) it seems to you i have a good controle over my deams but half are nightmairs a can’t wake from and the other half are painful and vary involintary but all have a story line like a book… thats trippy as fuck

I have kept one for the past 2 days, and already I remeber details of dreams much better. For the first time I can ever remeber, I sensed warmth in a dream and, it’s hazzy but, I think I may have also smelled fresh rain! I NEVER smell anything in my dreams. Usualy.

Well yesterday I was determined to learn how to lucid dream so I followed this guide, constantly done reality tests and created a dream journal. I set my alarm clock to wake myself 6 hours after falling asleep, only to wake up in the night and in the morning without ANY sort of memory of my dream. Is there anything I can do to make sure I don’t just wake up with no memories of my dream?

i’ve had moments where i’ve had a text message in the middle of the night, its woken me up from my dream.
i’ve them proceed to read the message, then think about the dream i was having. then i’ve fallen back asleep and carried on with the same dream.

these kind of dreams have kind of been ‘half lucid’ i know im dreaming, but i sometimes can’t control my actions fully. any tips?

I dream all the time sometimes a little too much. I wake up to use the rest room when I return I am able to return back to the same exact place in my dream I left off.
I have learned to control my dreams meaning I enter-act in my dreams. I am able to make my own choice. I dream in color, I smell, and I am able to taste in my dreams. I have been sleeping about 12 hours a day. I dream through out the whole 12 period. I have seen place that does not yet exist. I have been in wars movies races you name it I have done it in my dream. I have been put in the historic days and seen the end. Still waiting far a device that can record our dreams.

On falling asleep but still awake, I see floaters, big or small. I now try to touch them out of sheer boredom now, used to be petrified of them, some do still get me now!! My question is… I would really like to give Lucid Dreaming a go now I’m not scared, but will these images I see prevent that, I have had sleep paralysis once about 2 years ago and saw a bald headed man with no face, Hope I never see him again, but really really want to try Lucid Dreaming Help!! !xx

TJ Lane

Sarah, most pre-teens and teenagers are diagnosed with restless leg syndrome. This can cause extravagant twitches in various parts of the body during the first phases of sleep. This is completely normal and you will likely grow out of it eventually. As for the bed tipping thing…. you are likely already dreaming when this happens…. recognize it and become lucid girl!

also, I had a dream where i realized i was dreaming and said to myself “hey this is a dream” and woke up. I also had a dream where i tried to wake myself up but couldn’t my mind was saying hey wake up but i just couldn’t open my eyes P.S. may be a possibility it was my mom

when i used to get that dream i could see me in my bed and like i was spinning slowly in something that was a black and white spiral and looked like something you would use to hypnotize someone in a movie (it happened when i was 5 I’m 11 now and still remember it

i keep having dreams wherein i can control myself or well kind of the main character but not to a big extent, i can will him to do something but thats it, Although i don´t really do anything to get these dreams, is that any closer to lucidity? (its almost as if there is a scenario playing out in my head or i´m watching a film)

about the random tipping/swirling, i used to have it then it just dissapeared. I have heard it is something to do with the inner ear, but it never caused me any trouble.

Hi Sarah,

What you describe as a leg twitch is quite a common pheonomena. You can find out more about it here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnic_jerk

A lot of your other experiences sound like hypnogogic imagery. This can happen with sleep onset aswell as waking.

Take a look here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnogogic

The good thing is that you seem aware of your conscious state whether falling asleep or starting to wake. This is a good sign that you will succeed at lucid dreaming given enough practice.

question
sarah

hi, (1)sometimes when i start to fall asleep I do see short vivid dreamsbut also in the middle of it my leg twitches and wakes me up it like hops and is weird. (2) sometimes when I am about to wake up I dream that I am in a black and white spiral in my bed and I can feel myself moving and other times when I first start to go to sleep I can feel my bed tipping over and moving but there is not a picture (note:the ones labeled 2 have not happened in a while) do you think you might know why this happens?

I love having lucid dreams. I can remember almost every dream I have most nights. I love how much control you can have over it. Where you can send yourself and all the crazy things you can do. I recently tried to draw a cube on a piece of paper in my dream and it was pretty difficult. I can now do it with ease. I have solved problems and I can remove myself emotionally from situations.
I think I’ve been having lucid dreams since forever, but I’m a bit confused reading your descripton of lucid dreaming. Usually I’m awared that I’m dreaming if I am “myself” in dreams. It is a “fixed” self with certain abilities and I often try to force out my abilities but I rarely question the logic of the situation or try to manipulate the flow of events.
My dreams can be completely unfamiliar but as long as I’m “myself” I’ll just play my role in it without asking. Sometimes I do reality check just to confirm if I can take risks or not. I’m conscious about who i am and I act with reasons but I don’t control the dream or try to compare normal logic to it. Is it lucid enough?

Sometimes I am not myself in the dream, but switch between different people’s viewpoints. It’s like watching a movie, the details and plots are also great, I even experienced emotions which are not mine. I don’t even know how to describe it. In just one moment it’s like the whole memory and passion of another person pouring into you. It can’t be normal dream, what type of dreams is that?

Some of my dreams are also connected. Many of my dreams have “previous events” which would be loaded into my “memory”, sometimes it is from, or related to another dream I had before, thus creating some “series”. My biggest series is what I consider my second life, so when I’m in lucid state I would hope to continue it to meet the loved ones that I can only meet there, instead of trying to take control.

So I guess my dreams are lucid but not so lucid?

Anyway great site I love my dream life much more than real life and I have always wanted to talk about dream experiences ^^ So thank you ^^
If I could turn everything I’ve dreamed into movies I must have become famous LOL

Confined to Reality
Doesn’tMatter

I sporadically have lucid dreams and I want my lucid dreams to be exactly like real life. I have absolutely no desire to fly, walk through anything, or have magic powers. I want my lucid dreams to be just like real life and they never quite are. For example, in my last lucid dream I drove up a hill with my car and I flew into a huge jump that was unrealistically high which bothered me. In my lucid dreams I want to skateboard down huge sets of stairs, I want to get in a high speed chase with the police, and I want to jump off of buildings and splat on the ground. I hope that in the future my lucid dreams are bound by the laws of nature, physics, and legality.

i reacintly found out about lucid (witch means someone toled me about it like 5 years ago and me and shoddy brain just figured out what the hell thay where talking bout) any way im in martal arts and honistly i don’t think i’m the best so i thought (this it a long comment) mabey i could get some technique training in a lucid dream state

mentle traning (like visulising not meditation) helped my bro out but it’s not going to well for me so do you think being in a lucid dream state will help me get my technique and moves down to memory or will it retard my ability to do it in real life

Drugs and lucid dreaming

I don’t know if you condone the talk of drugs on the website but the first time I took LSD it was just like Lucid dreams i used to have when I was little (before it got really trippy). I have since started having really mad dreams that I can delve really deep into.

The only problem is when I wake up I feel like I’ve been answering math question for the 24 hours, my body feels well rested but my brain feels knackered.

I often find myself falling into lucid dreams while at work or on the bus. It seems so real but I have trained my self to be able to notice and quickly get out of them.

Brilliant website

How vivid is lucid dreaming?

Hello there, I am 16 and have been having rather disturbing nightmares for while now, also how vivid are lucid dreams, do they feel as real – as real life?

I have had dreams where I have felt physical pain and the water and wind blowing through my face

so is lucid dreaming as real as that? Also has there even been a case of two people in the same dream, because me and my sister coincidentally had the same dream once and the exact same thing happened to both of us.

P.S.

This is really cool. I’m kinda scared to try this though. I’m religious. Am I going against God by doing this? Or am I gonna be like… haunted by spirits? I don’t know haha just paranoid I guess

hi, I just wanted to ask if you know of any really good dream interp. websites and no I don’t mean te ones that have keywords only ex. I look for meanings for the details in my dreams but most of the websites just give one thing like say that you have a dream that has many things and just the keywords might not be correct and also it would be cool if they told you why you dream one detail and then put all the details together to get the whole dream and I would think they would not be accurate if they are just detais
sorry to bother,sarah
